Rock your socks for World Down Syndrome Day - March 21 - Bring in $1 and have sock feet in the classroom only for the day.
rock your socks tuesday, march 21, 2023. Every year onMarch 21, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored mismateched socks. Why March 21? People with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Why socks? In a karyotype (close up pic of chromosomes), the chromosomes kind of look like socks.
Students, enjoy your day off tomorrow! Teachers, see you in the morning! ☺️

Parents, please help us to keep the fun in this without the problems that sometimes arise. :-) #tgscottelementary #bearslovebirthdays #bearsloverules

We love birthdays! However, with almost 900 birthdays in the school, we have to set some parameters for how we can appropriately celebrate. Thank you for understanding and adhering to these guidelines: whole cakes are not allowed - any treats must be "ready to serve" or prepackaged such as cupcakes or doughnuts & not require cutting, etc homemade treats are not allowed - must be store bought, individually wrapped, etc - this is a district policy parents are only allowed in the cafeteria for birthday celebrations, not in the classroom
Today is the day! Actually, tonight is the night! It's Math Night! And, here's a hint of what kind of oceanic fun it'll be! (But please don't touch the sea creatures!) #tgscottelementary #mathnight #underthesea
