Hubbard’s Club Tome Reading Bowl team has officially wrapped up their book drive! Over the last few days before break, team members took the time to look up each donated book and carefully sort them by reading level. Their hard work and attention to detail truly brought this project together.

After the break, we are excited to present the donated books to Dr. Jessica Evans and can’t wait to announce the total number of books collected. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our school community.

We received a wonderful collection of preschool books, and if anyone would like to continue donating, we are especially in need of middle grade and young adult titles. These books support Backpack Buddies, which serves students at every level across our school system, and we would love to have more books available for our middle and high school students.

Thank you for every donation. Each book will make a meaningful difference! ❤️📖

We are so proud of our Hubbard family!

At Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting, the Monroe County School Board recognized our Samuel E. Hubbard Elementary TOME Reading Bowl Team and their dedicated advisor for their outstanding commitment to reading, leadership, and service.

The Board also honored Hubbard student Kingston Harris, selected as Artsonia Artist of the Week, and celebrated Mrs. Kera Davis, our school’s very first elementary agriculture teacher.

Congratulations to all! Your hard work and passion continue to make a meaningful impact on our school and community.

Prior to the break, the HES Club Tome team spent a chapter meeting assembling Writing Readiness Packets for Pre-K families to take home during PACT time. The team organized materials and packaged resources designed to support early writing development.
This activity gave our students a chance to contribute to the school community while creating a meaningful literacy tool for our youngest learners. We hope our Pre-K families are enjoying the packets at home!
