Thank you to everyone in our school system who helped support our recent Jay's Hope Hats4Hope day. Together we raised funds to assist local families battling childhood cancer while also raising awareness about the fight. The mission of Jay’s Hope is “to improve the quality-of-life of children with cancer and their families in Georgia by extending HOPE through social, emotional, spiritual, educational and financial support.” HES, KBS, TGS, and MCMS are honored to have participated in this campaign, and this morning presented a check to Jay’s Hope for over $2300, the largest amount ever from Monroe County. And, with a sweet full circle moment, the Jay's Hope representative receiving the check was our very own Kylie Seitz Stone. Kylie attended school here in Monroe County and graduated from Mary Persons, she was a Jay's Hope kid herself, and is a cancer survivor. We are proud of Kylie and happy to continue this tradition of giving to support a cause precious to her and other MCS students.

We are so proud to celebrate our agriculture teacher, Mrs. Kera Davis, who has been named Monroe County’s Georgia Farm Bureau Volunteer of the Year AND was selected as the District 5 Volunteer of the Year! 👏
Georgia Farm Bureau recognizes outstanding volunteers who go above and beyond to promote agriculture, and Mrs. Davis certainly does just that! Her commitment to educating students and sharing the importance of agriculture reaches far beyond her classroom.
🌱 She regularly welcomes Mrs. Sandy Williams to Hubbard to help bring hands-on agriculture and STEM experiences to our students.
🌱 She spent part of her summer planning lessons and volunteering at a local daycare, helping young children learn and explore.
🌱 She attended the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference this summer, continuing to learn new ways to bring agriculture into education.
🌱 And she continually looks for new opportunities to connect our students with agriculture, STEM, and real-world learning.
Mrs. Davis is a wonderful example of what it means to serve, lead, and give back. We are incredibly thankful for all she does for our students, our school, and our community!

💛🎗️September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and today our students had a truly meaningful opportunity to learn, listen, and grow with a very special guest reader!

Due to an increase in traffic blocking Highway 83 and Old Brent Road, we will be changing our PM car rider dismissal pattern. All AM car rider procedures will remain in place. Please review the flyer and video. The new traffic pattern will start on Monday, September 14. Law enforcement will be on hand to assist with this transition.

Starting Thursday, our Hubbard Tigers will begin making their way to class on their own, but don't worry, we've got them! Our staff and Safety Patrol will be throughout the building, ready to welcome, encourage, and help every student get safely to their classroom.
A few friendly reminders:
🐾 Students may begin entering the building at 7:30 a.m.
🚪 Parents may walk students to class between 8:00–8:30 a.m. tomorrow only.
⏰ Beginning Thursday, students will enter independently, and our school day begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. Please help your Tiger arrive on time so they're ready for a great day of learning!

To help ensure a safe and smooth start to the school year, car rider dismissal will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, Tuesday, August 4, and Wednesday, August 5.
Beginning Thursday, August 6, we will return to our normal dismissal time of 3:17 p.m.
If you plan to walk your student to class on the first three days of school, you may do so from 8:00-8:15 a.m.
We can't wait to welcome everyone back! Outlined in our graphics are procedures for AM and PM car dismissal, as well as bus transportation procedures. Let's ROAR into a successful school year! 🐅
