At its July 21, 2020 meeting, the Monroe County Board of Education approved an extension to a previously-authorized Spending Resolution for the 2020-21 Fiscal Year.
Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the local school board has not been able to finalize its budget prior to the opening of the 2020-21 fiscal year.
The Spending Resolution authorizes the Superintendent and system administration to continue the business of the school system through July and into August without an approved budget.
The Monroe County School System has presented a tentative budget to the board which is now posted on the system website. Public input sessions on the budget will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4, at a 5:30 p.m. called meeting, and Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the BOE’s next regular monthly meeting.
